Bearfang || In the destroyed territories ( Open to Group Two Scouts & Victims )
It was hard seeing the clans' old territories again. What was one a beautiful, thriving land was now a bunch of ruined rubble. Trees were ripped apart and now lay free from the earth, crying out in pain as they slowly died. Shrubs, grass, and flowers were scattered everywhere as usual, but now lay torn, tattered, and wrecked. Rocks and cracks in the ground dotted the areas where trees once dominated, a cruel reminder of the past few days. Bearfang shudered as he wondered what would become of his home. Would it regrow and rise back to its former glory? Or would it break down even further to match the wretched wastelands the cats struggled to survive in now? The large tom spat at the mere thought of it. It was like having a sick twisted dream, and you wanted so badly to wake from, but you can't. Why? It's reality. A cold harsh reality that crushed everything in its path. Bearfang was brought back to his senses. We're here to find survivors, not to reminisce about the past. Blinking, he stepped forward, the harsh sunlight glaring down on his thick black pelt. Everything here feels so foriegn.. So unforgiving. Will we even find any survivors? I mean, who could have possibly made it this long in these conditions..? The tom scolded himself and set to work on sniffing out anyone out in the rocky maze ahead, his ears straining forward to pick up any and every sound. "Hmm? What was that? A cat in trapped in the rubble? He leaped up onto a rock and almost slipped off into a large cayon-like rip in the ground. He peered over the edge, his green eyes blazing with hope. "Hello? Anyone down there?" His tail drooped. There was no answer. A soft sigh escaped his lips and the light in his eyes died down. He looked like he could start crying at any moment, all his old joy and confidence drained from him, just as the life from his homeland was. "Nothing.. Nothing at all."

Gorsetalon followed in behind the other time. He grumbled to himself, cursing why he had had to come out and do this. He sniffed the air, trying to scent any cat that may still be alive. But everything smelled the same. The tom sighed, and snapped at Bearfang when he almost slipped. "Why don't you be more careful!? This isn't a rescue mission for you, and I'd rather not have to pull you out of anything." He wasn't particularly fond of StormClan cats, and unluckily for him two of the cats in the patrol were former StormClan cats. He grumbled some more, bounding over to a hollow tree that had been torn in half, and peered in. Nothing, nothing at all. Baring his teeth in a silent growl of frustration, he looked back up. He shook his head, padding back to the other three cats, his eyes more cold than usual. "Why do we even try? If anyone survived, they'd be strong enough to come find us. I don't see why we have to find them." He glared at the other three cats, anger rolling off him in waves. "There's obviously no one out there." He flipped his head back to Bearfang, almost seeming like he wanted to pick a fight, but he knew now was not the time.

Adderfall stepped through the rubble that once was her land, her home. The young warrior heaved an heavy sigh. Why is our home so beautiful yet so easily taken? It came so suddenly, the earthquakes the destructive nature that nearly killed all of the clanners. What did we ever do to deserve this? Has Starclan abandoned us? Suddenly the young warrior shook her buzzing head No. Starclan would never leave us...
Her thoughts wandered to the four clan's futures or if they would ever return back to the one thing she truly ever called her home. Adderfall snapped out of thought as she head a scrapping of claws. She quickly bounded towards the sound and skidded across the leaves to find that Bearfang had slipped. She twitched her ears forward, she must of slowed her pace and lagged backwards if she didn't notice her fellow clanners walk ahead. Adderfall blinked snorting as Gorsetalon scoffed at Bearfang. "Come on. Let's search more." She said with a kind of winded voice, it shown clearly by just her tone that Adderfall was hurt by their surrondings. She couldn't even picture her old home in this rubble. " If a cat was hurt and to weak to say something, then they would be doomed if we left..." Adderfall stepped elgantly onto the rock, her movements quick and agile. She stood between the two toms smiling weakly. 'It won't hurt won't it?"

The old flame of Bearfang's strong personality flared back to life when he heard the other tom. Bitter fool. I wouldn't make a noise if I were trapped if I knew he was the one to rescue me either. His pelt bristled lightly as he lept down next to the wide gaping hole in the earth. The tom spoke again. Bearfang turned to meet his gaze. Gorsetalon was not the kind of cat that he liked. He was about to say something when Adderfall appeared, and all his anger melted away. Well.. Temporarily, anyway. Gorsewhatsit would surely do something else to make their task even more difficult than it need be. A soft frown appeared on his face as he studdied her expression. She's even more distraught than I am, isn't she? "Of course we'll continue searching. With newfound confidence, he flicked his tail to beckon everyone forward as he lept across the gap and headed a little deeper into the woods, stuffing his head in a toppled over bush without waiting for the tom to respond. He probably wouldn't like Bearfang acting as leader of the patrol, even though he acted like leader of everything. He just wanted to be great like his father.

Gorsetalon rolled his eyes. "Who made you the leader?! Should be the one with the most experience, which means the oldest." He narrowed his eyes but followed after Bearfang anyways, his paws hitting the ground heavily. Keeping his head to the ground, he eyed everything warily. Anything could be a potential threat, and there were so many places a cat may be trapped. They wouldn't find everyone. If they do find someone, who's to say the 'survivor' will even still be alive. They could be dead, meaning the search for survivors wouldn't have gone too well. He continued to feel anger bubbling up inside him, for what reason, he didn't know. It just felt better with the anger, like he could actually live. Anger was all he ever really knew, anything else felt... odd. He had felt so much anger in the life he remembered, that he sometimes wondered what he was like before he came to MarshClan. Gorsetalon lifted his head and sniffed the air, grumbling again as no cat scents came to him. Eying the other scout members warily, he padded on, trying to find life, though he didn't want to. "This is useless..."

Adderfall sighed with content, her heart pounded rapidly in her chest. Even though Grosetalon made sense she couldn't bare the thought of leaving any cat meaning that this Patrol might be their own hope to survive. She sighed trudging after Bearfang ignoring the other tom's grumby mumbling. She stayed close to Bearfang reluctantly glancing around for any sign of life. After no signs of any other life she grew inpatient opening her mouth the let in the unsteady scent of nature fill her mouth. It was odd, with all the upturned earth and fresh smell of spilt grass. It was somewhat tethering on the edge of revolting. It was unnatural for her, and for her keen sense it maximized.
Adderfall yawned quietly, her eyes momentary close in thought as they tresses through the brush. Was this really that useless? Adderfall pricked her ears as she heard Gorsetalon mutter her own thoughts. She whipped her head towards him and flattened her ears. " This is not useless! We will find someone.. Something..." He voice trailed of towards the end whipping back around and stalking ahead. She didn't want to deal with a warrior whom didn't hang on the hope to findthe missing clan cats. Anger started to bubble inside her as she stomped forward desperately trying to find anything to reveal signs of any other cats.

"We did find ...something..." Bearfang pulled his head back out of the bush with a small black beetle on his face. "Doesn't look like a warrior to me though." The little bug stayed on the black and white tom's face, as if letting go would mean the end of its existence. He shook his head, but it still stayed. Shrugging, he looked to Gorsetalon. "Okay, leader, you show us where to look." His tone was very sarcastic, a very light tinge of irritation floated around in it as well. He narrowed his eyes and flexed his muscles as the she-cat trudged onward. It's been a long time since he last got to tear apart another living creature.. Perhaps today he could do it again... Nah. Needn't waste his energy on someone like him. He wasn't worth the trouble. Bearfang whisked around and padded after Adderfall, cheerfully whistling as if all were well and he wasn't just about to attack a fellow warrior.

Gorsetalon narrowed his eyes, and bared his teeth ever so slightly. StormClan cats were definitely not his favourite cats to be spending the day with. "I wouldn't want to lead someone like you." His eyes focused on the bug, and he glared at it, as if that would be enough to kill the beetle. He padded away from the group, checking the air halfheartedly, not really looking for survivors. He growled and threw some leaves into the air, watching as they fell to the ground as if nothing had ever happened. Shaking his head slowly, he shot a look back at the group and padded back. "Nothing over there. Nothing over here. I doubt we'll find anyone. If we do, they could be hurt and it's not like we have the herbs to take care of them." Twitching his ears slightly, he looked around. So much was different, all that he had known was now gone. Everything... it was almost like his memories were destroyed for a second time. Not like he had many memories here anyways, only bad ones. Ones that would torment him and destroy him from the inside. He scoffed and then sighed.

Adderfall blinked noticing Bearfang again, she sighed giving a smile again. "Well I guess beetles are very fond of you this moon huh?" She pricked a ear to the left hearing a small scuffle. She turned her head slightly to have a high pitched warning call pierce the crisp air. Adderfall snapped her ears down lightly snorting as a crow took wing from the bushes a few foxlengths away probably scaring away any smug of prey that might of been anywhere near them.
She sniffed " Well there goes any hope of prey." She averted her gaze back to Bearfang blinking her eyes lightly to gaze at the Black and white Tom. She remembered when they were just kits, reckless and full of life. Now all sign of immature thoughts pushed away and replaced by strict actions all designed for adulthood. Adderfall peered around again hoping to find any sign of life. She was desperate now wanting to prove that grumby Tim so brutally wrong.

He chuckled at Adder's comment and nodded before turning to Gorsetalon. "What's eating you?" It came out harsher than he intended, but Bearfang was losing his patience with everything. The loss of his home.. Adderfall's sadness.. Gorsetalon's irritablity.. The lack of prey and survivors... It was all just too much. "Is it really so much more important than finding others that weren't so fortunate to escape? Is it? Is it?!" He was a large ball of fur now, letting out a loud hiss. It seemed he had developed his father's temper as well. He braced himself, ready to charge at the mousebrained, selfish fleabag when he realized fighting wasn't important right now. Still bristling, he continued on, muttering to himself. If he couldn't calm down, a fight would break out soon. A pretty nasty one too. "AUGH! IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?!!" His loud yowl echoed throughout the empty ruins, making everything else seem eeriely silent. Surely anyone within rescuing range would've heard him.

Gorsetalon growled. "Why don't you stay out of my business and away from me." He bristled at the other tom, baring his teeth. He stayed tense, claws unsheathed even as Bearfang padded away again. He snorted in fustration, his anger seeping around his brain like black goo, filling every space it could get into, turning everything dark. "Well, now any predators can find us too. Great. Why don't we just shout at the top of our lungs, 'HEY WE'RE OVER HERE! NICE JUICY PREY'. Cause I bet that would work even better." He sniffed some tumbled rocks, sneezing as dust filled his nose. Glaring at the rocks, he padded on, claws sinking into the ground. Sitting down, he listened, his ears forward and swiveling rapidly for any sign of other life. Though it almost seemed like they were the only ones there.

Adderfall watched as the two toms screamed at eachother, she seemed awaken back by Bearfang's snarl. She rarely saw Bearfang's 'Angered' side. They were good friends after all. Her ears twitched awkwardly as Gorsetalon screeched at the top of his lungs also. Her hearted ache for Bearfang he probally is going through the same thing as her. The pain of losing everything all at once, well she had went through it before when she was a kit....
Adderfall shook her head, the thoughts of her past popping like a bubble. She looked over at the black and white Tom again. The echoing silence making a shove ripple up her spine. She then looked at Gorsetalon. Ever since they started this patrol the two toms seemed to always but heads. She took a large intake of air through her lungs and stepped towards Gorsetalon. "Can we just pretend that there's someone here?" Her voice slipped with slow sorrow. " We have to think of many clan cat's that might be depending on us Right. Now." She blinked her spoken words Boardering far more wiser then her age protrays. She blink pleading at Gorsetalon with her bright green eyes before turning around and padding towards Bearfang. She looked a him briefly before rubbing her cheek to his shoulder, practically smelling the anger spilling from him. She had to calm him before either of the toms hurt eachother and in this situation that was definitely not needed.

"Predators? How can you say there's predators here when you say there's unlikely any survivors here..?" Fleabrain.. Suddenly he felt Adderfall's gaze on him. He was about to turn and apologize for his behaviour when he felt her warmth on his shoulder. He felt new strong waves of emotion rolling over him, though they seem to come from the she-cat. Sorrow was the strongest. There was also a small tinge of something else.. Sympathy? Or was it empathy? Does she feel sympathetic for me? Why? Does she know my secret? A small strand of fear shot through him. No one needed to know what he was the result of.. Who his real father was. If they did, everyone would either resent him or feel sorry for him, which was the last thing he wanted. Forcing his own feelings aside, Bearfang nuzzled up against her, taking comfort in her presence. After a short few moments, he sighed loudly. "Look, I'm sorry. I'm just all shook up from what's happened. We all are. I'll stop my foolishness as it's not getting us anywhere. You should stop yours too." With that, the tom strode off ahead again, taking time to carefully scent everything for the tiniest trace of any survivors. He had to make up for time lost for their little fiasco.

Adderfall sighed with content seeing that Bearfang had calmed down. Her ear twitched to the side the thought of a predator making her alittle uneasy. If a predator would come across their path it would be unexpected, they were focussed mainly on finding survivors at the moment. Adderfall shook her head to clear her thoughts again before padding a ways across to a small oak, sniffing around for any sign of others. As Gorsetalon predicted they would most likely find no one. All the scents that were present at this moment were only the stale scents of prey and the fresh scent of dirt. "Well. I guess a mouse was just here. A scrawny one at that..." She could scent the stench of starvation smeared onto the dirt. She pawed the little burrow that probally made up the small prey's nest. If they didn't come back with the missing cat's then they could at least come back with prey. Adderfall was determined not to come back empty pawed.

"Predators could come, knowing that there would be prey to eat. And would you two get a room? Sheesh." He stormed a few fox lengths away from there, a new emotion spilling off him. In the anger was also an overwhelming sense of loneliness. Despite the loneliness, he always distanced himself from everyone. It was just how he always was. The brown tom stood up again, and sighing, glared at the group. "We should keep going. There's nothing in this area." The spark seemed to have left him, but the anger was still below the surface, waiting to erupt at the right moment. Shaking his head to clear his head, he looked around. Devastation was all he could see, and he growled at it, wishing he wasn't stuck with two StormClan cats. Wishing he could just be alone.
