Shadowfire & Lilystem ll Inside Makeshift Camp
Shadowfire found himself ready to accompany his daughter, Lilystem on a herb trip to the Barren Wastelands. He doubted they would find anything and he found himself questioning her actions. She knew better then many cats that they'd probably find nothing. So what drove her to asking him to come with her? Did she want to speak to him alone? As they stood near the entrance, he tried to figure her out. She was stubborn like him. Which wasn't always a bad thing, but still, it got her into trouble sometimes...He cleared his throat, ready to call out if anyone would like to come with them. But Lilystem beat him to it. "Would anyone like to come with us?" she asked, using her silky soft voice. She was good at persuading cats to do her bidding. But she never used it selfishly. Just when it was a last resort. And it felt like a last resort to her. Herbs were running low. But so was prey. And she guessed her father hadnt yet figured out that they would be hunting AND collecting herbs.

Robinstrike Still ached, and it had bothered him when a medicen cat had offered him some herbs that he had only gotten half the amount that was needed to help his pains go away. HE knew all the cats needed herbs and in any case, he hadnt left this stinking, dust ridden camp since he had arrived almost three sunrises ago. The kits, apprentices and even some of the elders had begun to bother him.
He ached to slink, to run, to climb, just to get out of this place!
Sometimes he wished that he hadn't returned to the clans, that he had stayed away and continued to travel, be free, not ruled my any cat.
but the reason he had come back was the same reason the he clambered to his paws and called out across the camp as he began to trot across the open space,
"hey! you.. er Lily...leaf, ill come...."
HE still had problems with memory's....

Lilystem let out a good, soft hearted laugh. "Its Lilystem." she explained with another chuckle. "Good try though. Would you like to accompany us, Robinstrike?" she asked with a sweet smile. "We could really use the help." she added. "And it looks like your itching to get out of camp." Shadowfire gave a nod to Robinstrike. He had never spoken to the warrior, but he seemed loyal and strong.

Robinstrike grunted in reply and he nodded to both the cats. He had never been good about talking to strangers and since he had been away he knew even less of the cats in his clan, let alone the one who weren't!
"what are we gonna um... Find then"
He didn't want to talk about anything, he just wanted to go and get out, even if the dry land was unforgiving and harsh it was better than dozing in the sun dreaming of past years...
He twitched slightly. Flicking his head as if to rid an annoying fly.

"Herbs...of course..." A new voice chipped in as well as a rough and rumbled up tomcat made his presence known by his deep, throaty gurgle. The corners of his maw twitched up with amusement as he strolled into the fray as if he owned it, yet his stride was cool, calm and authoritative. This marshClan cat was born with a level head built for his father's affairs.
Hawktide had arrived. He was Finchstar's son true enough and his earless tuft twitched as he spoke up once more. "Greetings. I am Hawktide of MarshClan. Son of Finchstar and Cirruscurrent. Might you be so kind as to allow me into your little herb tribe?" and dipped his head deeply and respectfully to the she-cat. Then bowed his head to the two toms.

Shadowfire, with a confused gaze, stared at Hawktide. A stone formed in is throat and he tried to speak, feeling rather awkward. "Hawktide-" he hesitated. "Its me...Shadowfire." he mumbled, looking away. Sensing her father's upset feelings, Lilystem quickly stepped in and turned to Robinstrike. "Lots of stuff!" she chirped happily with her tail up to the sky. "We'll be looking for herbs and hunting!" she exclaimed excitedly. She then turned to Hawktide and grinned. "Hey Hawktide. I dont think you know me. Im Shadowfire's daughter, Lilystem. By father says you lived in the nursery with you and your sisters." she offered with another smile.

finchstar...
Robinstrike visibly hunched further into himself at the sound of his olf freind, mentor and leader, name. The name of the cat that he never EVER had wanted to disapoint and he had. HE hadnt found the courage to go and talk to his old mentor yet because He was to afraid of what he might see in his eyes. what if finchstar never forgave him.
Yet his anger started to bubble at this young cats presence. EVen as he tryed to supress it another side of him was screeching to let it out.
HE didnt reply to any of the cats words. HE just walked out of the makeshift camp, his head still hanging below between his shoulders.

With a hesitant look at Robinstrike as he dragged himself out of the makeshift camp. Her heart hurt. She hated to see cats like him who were depressed, saddened, and afraid of what was to come. With an easy look she excused herself and walked after Robinstrike. She circled around him so she was in front of him and she sat down, blocking his path. "If you'd like to talk about it I wouldn't mind. I'd just listen and I swear I wont judge." she added. "I just want to help." she mumbled, a little shy at that moment.

Hawktide cleared his throat as he was brought into the light upon Shadowfire. "My...it certainly has been a long time...old friend." the corners of his law indeed twitched up higher and he clapped a paw breathlessly upon his denmate's back with a hearty chuckle. "Where you been, you old sport?" his eyes glittering after Lilystem flouncing away. "And what a looker your daughter has turned out to be." he mewed politely with a purr of heartfelt enthusiasm.
At long last, some happiness.

Shadowfire's eyes brightened. He remembered him. "Here and there." he said vaguely. "Living the life of a rogue with my daughter." he said with a smile. He felt relaxed around him. Maybe he wasnt so bad. But that comment about his daughter erked him. And without thinking, he started.... "My daughters a medicine cat." he stated. But relaxed. Who was he kidding? Hawktide would never go for Lilystem. She was still hung up about Beetlenose. But whatever she saw in him, he could not see. Maybe it had been for the best when Beetlenose had....disappeared.
