He had started off at the first moment he'd realized she was following him. There was some pain involved of course, surrounding his paws, but this was indeed worth a little blood. It was happiness. As he led her somewhat closer to the camp, the Tom suddenly veered off a bit to the right; to a spacious field. One tree stood alone, not too large but definitely filled with what he was searching for. His tail raised up in signal, the tail tip flopping over in its brokenness.
Slowing the she-cat to a halt, he looked at her with a knowing glint to his eyes before gesturing for silence. Next, the Tom padded up to the tree trunk and stretched up against it, a bit luxuriously. Finally, he rocked powerfully against it with a great heave and a grunt of effort.
Scattering millions of baby spiders upon a fresh clear breeze...But they were not fallen nor lost...they floated upon the breeze, using it as a guide to their new life, seeming to fly upon silver lights. Which were really their strong webs but they made the appearance of flying spiders.
Hawktide had moved back to sit beside Spiderpaw once more and whispered in her ear, afraid of ruining the moment of wonder, "See...even spiders can fly like the mighty hawk."

Off went Hawktide, so the apprentice followed swiftly; trotting along with him, pawsteps light and bouncy. Where were they going? The question didn't fade in her mind. Back to camp? It sort of seemed it. That was the way they were heading. Well, not camp -- the makeshift one. Not the one she'd known through her kithood. But.. no dwelling on that! Oh, the path changed. Abruptly away from the camp. Off to a lone tree. She peered at it curiously, but obeyed the gestures, pausing when signaled and sitting quietly. Even though her pawpads were tingling with protest and energy. For a moment, she took notice of his tail tip. What had happened to it..? None of her business, Spiderpaw concluded. So it was back to observing. He had moved closer to the lone tree. Waiting. For what? She observed. Quiet and focused, now. A slight breeze stirred, ruffling her fur.
It was at that moment.. Hawktide decided to do whatever he was planning. Leaning onto it.. and giving it a shake. It was a strange action.. but it triggered something. Many, many tiny little things.. floating off on the breeze with barely visible silver ribbons trailing behind. What were..? Spiders. Baby spiders. The apprentice squeaked in surprise, following the tiny specks with her eyes. So many of them, captured on the breeze. Floating away with invisible wings. It was a strange sight. Tiny spiders.. flying. Not by their own power, but flying nontheless.
Moment of wonder indeed. The apprentice continued to watch -- the little specks, with their glints of silver. The slight shines of the silver lasted long after the spider-speck itself had become impossible to see. "I suppose spiders can fly, then," Watching a moment more.. then glancing to the warrior with a cat-smile. "And this means I owe you freshkill for a moon, eh?" Apparently.. spiders did fly!

Hawktide watched the wonder enfold before him within the small she-cat and a deep, rumbling if a bit broken purr escaped him without his notice. She was astonished, as she should be. He even produced a small chuckle once she spoke and he fixed her with a forest green-eyed stare, "No need for that...Alone anyways. I do tend to eat a lot, so I'll have to help you." giving her a polite tip of his head. (Sorry for the shortness Dx)

The little flying spiders were vanishing, now, it seemed. Like little, distant stars. Fading. How far would they go before they settled..? She looked off into the distance, debating this. Maybe not far, maybe so far.. she had no way of knowing. Did all spiders 'fly' to new homes like that? Or was it just some rare occurance caused by big warriors knocking them out of trees? She didn't ask. There was no reason to -- spiders had 'flown'. And they didn't even have wings. Could she do the same? Fly on invisible wings? Yes. Not literally; literally it was impossible.. but figuratively, yes. Figuratively, she'd fly on invisible wings. To warriorship and perhaps beyond. What would her future be? A warrior, perhaps deputy some day? Maybe even leader? Probably just a warrior. Competition for ranks were high, afterall.
Glancing to Hawktide with a cat-smile, she purred in agreement. "Alrighty, then~!" Ate a lot? One could assume such a large warrior would. It was necessary to maintain strength, afterall! "I haven't really started hunting yet. Hopefully that's one of the next lessons Eclipsefur will give me~! Though I really prefer fighting practice." Fighting -- it was much more entertaining than hunting. Hunting seemed to go on and on, where battle practice? It flew by with all the excitement and challenge. But, she wouldn't complain!
