Barely following the train of events as Cherrykit was saved by her mother, the little she-kit flopped into her mother's warmth and passed out cold...she was in shock. Shaking more than a mere tiny kit should shake, an ear bloodied so badly one couldn't even tell what color it was, her sides and ribs pierced by the eagles cruel talons, Cherrykit was right to be in shock. She lay curled up, appearing tiny, helpless and lifeless besides her endless shaking of her shock her body tried hard to quell by knocking her out.

Darkkit watched as his sister shook like an angry bee hive. He felt helpless to help her in any way. "Mama, what's happening to Cherrykit?" Worry laced his tiny mew. He, too felt the events of today, sore all over and his mouth tasted like eagle's blood and dirt. But seeing his sister so small, so helpless made him feel like like a Clan cat and more like a Twoleg's pet. Its my fault she's like this. He thought. Why didn't we just stay in Camp? The dark tom padded over to his sister and currled next to her hoping the warmth of his body would ease her shaking.
---------------
Redwood curlled around her kits feel the shaking of her daughter and the worry from her son. What would I have done if I had lost you? She though nuzzeling Darkkit. Be still, Cherrykit, all is fine now. Your safe. She rasped her tongue over her head to calm her down and get her to sleep without nightmares. Breaking out into a soft purr Redwood started to calmly wash her wound, I'll see the medicine cat about this later. She thought.

Shadowleopard's spirit wreathed around his mate and two precious kits, giving them his reassuring warmth. The danger was over now...but Cherrykit...She was never safe...He curled softly around Redwood and their kits and nuzzled his mate; unsure if she could feel him or not but not caring so long as he got to walk among his family for the day...Poor Cherrykit's shock didn't die down until after the nightmares of death, doom and destruction all around her...A prophecy...An eagle screamed and she opened her eyes, only to find she had woken from her nightmares and now she was frolicking around in peaceful meadows, chasing butterflies with a cat's warm presence she figured was her father.

Though her kits had nearly been stolen from her for the first time in a very long time, Redwood felt safe and warm, like being wrapped in sunlight on a cool day. She snuggled down with her kits smelling the sweet wood scent of her mate close by. You kept them safe when I could not. I may not be able to see you but you are always there. Cherrykit needs you now, I fear she will be changed from this experience. Guide her and watch over her in the coming moons. The queen tucked her nose under her paw, closed her eyes and slept.
---------
Darkkit could feel the ground being lifted from under him and the twigs snap against his face as he was lifted into the air. He could feel the ear splitting scream escape his jaws but heard nothing. Then to his horror he felt what was holding him release its grip and he fell back toward the earth.

(-pokes word 'roses'- What you be doing up thar? o.o -curses auto correct-)
Cherrykit was five moons old now, a changed she-cat from her attack. Everywhere she looked, she saw danger and huddled behind her brother at every rustle of every bush and every twig snap. She didn't dare sneak out of camp ever again and was actually afraid of becoming an apprentice rather than what she was supposed to feel towards apprenticeship: elation. But, she longed for freedom at the same time as protection...Could she have both?
The red kit had always felt her father's spirit press against her comfortingly at each jump of fright she managed. He reminded her each time that he was there...though deep down she wondered what he could actually do when the threat finally became real...
Cherrykit looked both ways, peering out the nest and nursery before shakily stepping out and zooming towards the fresh-kill pile, ploughing into her brother and shivering as if a chilly wind had just blown over her. Safe! She made it! Now she peeked around Darkstar as if a horde of badgers were surroundin them and a whimper slightly escaped her. But at least she had her brother...He would protect her for sure.

Darkkit felt the familliar bumb of his sister as she ran from the nersery to his side at the fresh-kill pile. In the moons that came after the attack Darkkit had grown to be a large healthy tom. His mother always said he looked like his father, but Darkkit had his mother's eyes; deep purple. Sighing he mewed to Cherrykit as he poked around the prey. "You know that eagle is long gone now." He kindly spoke to her. "Redwood most likely killed it when she attacted its wings." He paused just long enough to pull out a mouse and turned to his sister. He felt sorry for her, she could no longer enjoy the life of a Clan cat because she was always so scared at everything. And what was worse was he caused it. It was Darkkit that wanted to explore outside the Camp walls. He was too eager to grow up and it put him and his sister in danger. "Wanna share?" He asked holding up the mouse.

Cherrykit had begun to look just a bit less edgy when her big brother softly reassured her. Her father's scent wrapping around his son proudly and his daughter protectively. But still, a soft sigh escaped her and she placed her forehead on his shoulder, "I know, I know...But there are more than just one eagle around here...It's going to happen again, I know it..." she shivered, but tried to suppress it for her brother's sake. She knew he blamed himself for the entire incident, but Cherrykit knew better...The eagle was out for her blood inside camp or outside of it...When Darkkit mentioned food, her tummy rumbled in irritation, "N-No thanks...I'm not hungry...My tummy hurts." she grimaced, face falling and ears and tail drooping. It had been upset since yesterday and she hadn't eaten anything since the dawn of yesterday.

"You know your going to have to eat on your own sometime." He mewed around the mouse dangeling from his jaws. "Otherwise Redwood will shove this mouse down your throat!" Darkkit padded away and found a nice spot to sit and eat his mouse. He chewed and hoped to StarClan Cherrykit would want some before Redwood showed up and made his sister eat. "When I'm done with this do you want to play?" He asked hopefully.
