The green eyes of a cat shown out from bushes as she explored cautiously. Placing her white paws in front of her she slipped through the tendrils of the bush. As it clawed at her orange colored fur she winced slightly but plowed forward. 'I really want to find something helpful!' she thought quietly to herself as she saw a large leaf fluttering to the ground. She crouched down on her haunches then pushed forward as hard as possible sending her flying and landing perfectly on the leaf. "It would be helpful" she muttered aloud "If the was a bird or something" then she flicked her paw hitting the leaf away and covering it with dirt. Sitting down hastily she sighed and started carving out pictures in the dirt with her claws.

(joining in cause I wanna RP somewhere xD)
Gorsetalon padded casually toward the sound of rustling. He watched as an apprentice leaped at a leaf, pangs hitting him as he couldn't remember anything from before he was 9 moons old. 'Who was I before?' He shook his head and continued to watch, the breeze tugging on his fur and hunger pulling at his stomach. The brown tom then decided to call out. "Drawing won't catch any prey." He stepped out and sat down. "Unless you draw a map to the prey." He shook his head. 'Why am I even talking to someone? I'm hated by everyone.' Gorsetalon narrowed his eyes slightly.

Petalpaws head shot up. "Oh.. Um... I-I'm really sorry. I-I'm not really good at finding any" she muttered her eyes flicking to the tom and back down at her paws as she wiped the ground clear of her drawings. "I'm P-petalpaw." she muttered Why am I even trying to become friends? Anyone I even remotely like dies! she thought shaking her head sadly.

"Well there's not much prey anyways." Gorsetalon mumbled back. He recognized the apprentice as a MarshClan cat, but he barely even knew half of his clanmates, not caring enough to know them. "Gorsetalon." He narrowed his green eyes. "Not like you'd care anyways." The tom laughed inside his head. I only got myself. No one else trusts me enough. My, myself, and I. "Using your nose helps to find prey too. You know, that thing on the end of your face?" Gorsetalon looked quickly at the apprentice, Petalpaw. He then looked up, the sun shining brightly though the clans future seemed bleak at the moment. "Nice to meet you." She mewed with a small smile on the corners of her mouth. "Yea I know it's a nose. And I know what its for. And why wouldn't I care to know the name of the cat I'm talking to?" she mewed her eyes screwing up in confusion at the tom. "Besides you don't seem that bad."

Gorsetalon shook his head. "No one cares about me." He continued to look up, thinking of Robinstrike. He remembered climbing up the Seat of StarClan and actual training. Then Robinstrike left, and Gorsetalon was alone again. He had never felt so betrayed in his life, and it changed him greatly. 'No one cares for me. I'm alone. I'm alone. I'm alone.' The thought constantly went through his head, and he quickly licked his paw. He looked back at Petalpaw and sighed, wondering why he was even speaking with her.

Petalpaw looked at him quizzically "Well I sorta know what that feels like..." She muttered looking down at her paws "Everyone I remotely like dies" she said sadly "M-my parents, both parents, died on my apprentice ceremony. They came in right after I became Petalpaw." She sighed sadly and blinked her eyes keeping back tears "So what's your issue?" she asked "Why does no one like you? I mean I pull away to keep them from staying at the same fate everyone else I'm friends with dies" at the end she started laughing at how ridiculous it sounded. "So, do you pull away or do others pull away from you?"

Gorsetalon stuttered. No one had ever asked him something like that. He studied the apprentice closely, his claws sheathing and unsheathing. He then decided to speak. "I don't remember who I was. I was left alone when I was 9 moons old. I don't remember anything before that. My own mentor left before I was made a warrior. No one cares about me, or I wouldn't have been alone." He looked away, his eyes flickering with an unknown emotion. "No matter what I do, I always end up abandoned." He took a stuttering breath and focused his gaze on a passing cloud. 'I wish I could just leave this place, too."

The green eyes of the petite apprentice flickered toward him "That's sad..." She muttered "So you not the one pulling away..." she mewed "That's different with me." Petalpaw mewed looking at him "I was the one who is pulling away from everyone." The orange colored she sighed "So are we going to talk for the rest of the day or what?" she asked a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth

Gorsetalon looked away. "There's nothing else to do in this wretched land." He hadn't smelled any prey for days, and any prey that was found, went to the older cats, queens and kits. Most of the prey was scrawny anyways, deprived of food and water too. His paws were sore from walking and the rough ground, and it felt like every bone in his body ached. The tom sniffed the air, scowling at the dryness of it. Even the air held no moisture. If only it would rain, then maybe some other good things would happen.
He sighed and stood up, shaking off his pelt. "Nothing good will come of this. I know it." He noticed a feather laying on the ground.'At least it seems there is some prey.' The feather was only a false hope though, as everything seemed to disappeared. All except for the group of cats huddled around, waiting for a miracle.

Petalpaw sighed looking over at the feather. "We should go look for some prey" she muttered softly, though loud enough to be heard. "Which way O great and mighty cat that happens to be older, bigger, and smarter than me and that also happens to be a warrior" She mewed with a quirky smirk plastered on her face as she bowed her head at him. Laughter filled the air as the young she fell to the ground laughing.

Gorsetalon's eyes widened as he heard the joking voice. Jokes? Laughter? Cats never joked with Gorsetalon. He wasn't used to it, but he felt a small, warm tug at his heart. A small smile slowly formed on his face. Laughter, the sound of it felt nice. And knowing that he was included in the laughter, in a friendly way, felt nice too. He hadn't laughed, or smiled for that matter, for moons. He had had no reason too. Even this small smile was a miracle, a complete and utter miracle. The tom shook his head slowly, and, to even greater surprise, started laughing himself. Gorsetalon! Laughing! He looked again at Petalpaw again who was laughing on the ground. "Oh come on! I'm not that mighty! Far from it!" He rolled his eyes at the younger she-cat. Gorsetalon, joking back. This day was definitely a sign of good hope.

Popping in to check on the progress, the StormClan deputy found laughter, joking, and just plain tomfoolery going on. She scoffed and hissed, "Get back to work, lackeys. You can laugh and joke around once you get safely to your new homes." her eyes narrowed and she snorted before disappearing once more, her turquoise eyes unnerving and ruining the fun of others...because she didn't have any and worked her tail off that obviously meant that every other cat had to as well. No time for jokes when there were mouths to be fed.

"Oh sure!" she mewed, sarcasm lining her voice heavily. "Why don't we go hunt before she comes back and has our tails?" Petalpaw asked as she pushed herself heavily off of the ground. "Though I bet she doesn't know that we need to laugh before we become hard and emotionless." The orange colored cat sighed "It's healthy for us to hear it"

Gorsetalon immediately stopped laughing, his ears growing hot. Gone, the moment had passed just like that. How easily the joy could be shattered. How easily Gorsetalon was once more just an empty shell of a body. A walking zombie was what he sometimes seemed like, no feelings to show except anger. But, he had seen something. A small flash of something as he had been laughing. It had only been for a second, a very, very quick second. It was there then gone, the image. But it was now lodged deep in Gorsetalon's head. A memory was finally there. A memory that was a second long of him as a kit. It was short, but it was there. The first thing he had ever remembered about his past. Memories, how foolish they could be.
The brown tom stood up too, licking his chest fur a few times. He sighed and looked down. "Sure. Might as well." He sniffed the air lightly. Lots of scents coming, but no scents of prey. "Can you smell any prey?" There seemed to be nothing out there. It almost seemed that the clans would starve before prey came.
